The house that keeps two rooms

Kellington Manor is really two places in one. The house went up in 1892 as a gentleman’s residence: high ceilings, older rooms, and the manor lounge, where up to fifty can gather for an intimate ceremony.

Then, in 2019, we added the Squires 1892 suite: a bright room built for the party, with four full-length bifold doors onto the garden and its own bar in the corner. A hundred seated for dinner, a hundred and fifty into the evening. Use one, or use both.

Kept by the Papworths

We are Sue and Andrew, and Kellington Manor has been ours since 2002. We host twelve weddings a year, which is the way we like it. It means we get to know you, and it means the day is genuinely yours to shape rather than one slot in a busy diary.

Our packages are a starting point, not a ceiling. Bring your guest list, your ideas and the things you would rather skip, and we will build the day around them: add guests, upgrade the menu, adjust the drinks. We are here all day, quietly, sorting the bits you should not have to think about.

The order of the day is yours

No fixed running order, only the things you can count on:

  1. Your own bar

The Squires suite has its own bar in the room, poured for you and your guests, so the party never has to leave the party.

  2. Cooked here, by us

Every plate comes from our own kitchen and our own chefs, fresh, and built around what you and your guests actually want to eat.

  3. Room to spill outside

Four bifold doors open onto the garden and patio, with a large paddock beyond. On a good Yorkshire day the whole thing drifts outdoors.

  4. A paddock for photographs

Open fields, a wooden gate, big skies and the church tower in the distance. Your photographer will thank you for it.

  5. Dogs are family too

Bring the dog. They are welcome at the ceremony and right through the day.

  6. One wedding at a time

Twelve a year means the venue, the team and the whole day are yours. No overlap, no rush, no feeling like a number.

A church at the end of the lane

What couples remember about Kellington is how quiet it is. Fields on every side, and the tower of St Edmund’s just three hundred metres up the lane.

Say your vows there in the traditional way and walk back to us for the party, or hold an intimate ceremony here in the manor and keep the whole day on one patch of Yorkshire. Either way, the view does not change.

Kind words from our guests

“What a lovely find. A super, friendly welcome from the staff, and a really great, convivial atmosphere. The food was good, and the staff were extremely attentive. It's dog-friendly too, which is always a bonus. We shall be back.”
